I woke up today to a gray morning but a less windy and cold morning. It felt good, not be in bundle up and let go of some layers. As it gets warmer, I look forward to spending more time outdoors. Potential moving some of my daily mindfulness practices outdoors. Here are 10 mindfulness practices that are perfect for spring:
Walking meditation: Take a mindful walk outside and focus on your breath, your footsteps, and the sights and sounds of nature around you.
Gratitude practice: Take a few moments each day to reflect on what you're grateful for in the spring season, such as the blooming flowers, warmer weather, or longer daylight hours.
Mindful gardening: Engage in gardening as a form of mindfulness practice. Focus on the sensations of the soil in your hands, the smell of the flowers, and the sounds of the birds chirping.
Body scan meditation: Take a few minutes each day to do a body scan meditation, where you focus your attention on each part of your body and observe any sensations without judgment.
Mindful eating: Savor the flavors and textures of spring foods like fresh berries, crisp vegetables, and light salads. Eat slowly, focusing on the tastes and textures in each bite. Take a eating habits evaluation and see how mindful you are?
Breathwork: Practice intentional breathing exercises to calm the mind and body. Focus on inhaling deeply and exhaling slowly.
Digital detox: Take a break from screens and spend more time outdoors, connecting with nature and the world around you.
Yoga: Practice yoga outside in the fresh spring air, focusing on your breath and the movements of your body.
Mindful listening: Take time to listen to the sounds of nature, such as birds chirping, leaves rustling, and water flowing.
Mindful journaling: Reflect on your experiences and emotions during the spring season through journaling. Write down your thoughts and feelings and observe them without judgment.
Which of these do you practice and love changing up in the spring? I know I usually change the drink order from cold to iced as the spring moves into summer. Feel free to share your mindful practices in the comments.
With mindful eating, have you taken my eating habits evaluation? It's amazing how small steps and being present can make such a difference.
