Hello Spring! Let's go!


I woke up today to a gray morning but a less windy and cold morning. It felt good, not be in bundle up and let go of some layers. As it gets warmer, I look forward to spending more time outdoors. Potential moving some of my daily mindfulness practices outdoors. Here are 10 mindfulness practices that are perfect for spring:

  1. Walking meditation: Take a mindful walk outside and focus on your breath, your footsteps, and the sights and sounds of nature around you.

  2. Gratitude practice: Take a few moments each day to reflect on what you're grateful for in the spring season, such as the blooming flowers, warmer weather, or longer daylight hours.

  3. Mindful gardening: Engage in gardening as a form of mindfulness practice. Focus on the sensations of the soil in your hands, the smell of the flowers, and the sounds of the birds chirping.

  4. Body scan meditation: Take a few minutes each day to do a body scan meditation, where you focus your attention on each part of your body and observe any sensations without judgment.

  5. Mindful eating: Savor the flavors and textures of spring foods like fresh berries, crisp vegetables, and light salads. Eat slowly, focusing on the tastes and textures in each bite. Take a eating habits evaluation and see how mindful you are?

  6. Breathwork: Practice intentional breathing exercises to calm the mind and body. Focus on inhaling deeply and exhaling slowly.

  7. Digital detox: Take a break from screens and spend more time outdoors, connecting with nature and the world around you.

  8. Yoga: Practice yoga outside in the fresh spring air, focusing on your breath and the movements of your body.

  9. Mindful listening: Take time to listen to the sounds of nature, such as birds chirping, leaves rustling, and water flowing.

  10. Mindful journaling: Reflect on your experiences and emotions during the spring season through journaling. Write down your thoughts and feelings and observe them without judgment.
